2 months pregnant
At 2 months pregnant (weeks 5 to 8), your baby grows from a tiny embryo to about the size of a raspberry. The heart starts beating and all the major organs begin to form. Morning sickness and tiredness are often at their strongest.

Your baby at 2 months pregnant
This is one of the busiest months of development. The neural tube, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, forms and closes by week 6. The heart starts to beat and can often be seen on a scan from about 6 weeks. Arm and leg buds sprout, then fingers and toes begin to form. By the end of the month, all the major organs have started to develop and your baby is about 1.6 cm long.
By the end of the month:
| Size | About the size of a raspberry |
|---|---|
| Length | about 1.6 cm head to bottom |
| Weight | about 1 g |
